Background
In August 2025, Arinex delivered the International Childhood Trauma Conference (ICTC) at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, supporting one of Australia’s most significant gatherings focused on trauma informed care, research and advocacy.
With more than 2,600 delegates in attendance, the conference brought together practitioners, researchers, policymakers and advocates from across Australia and internationally. The program featured invited keynote speakers, specialist sessions and lived experience voices, creating space for learning, connection and meaningful dialogue across the sector.
The CHALLENge
ICTC is a deeply human conference, addressing complex and emotionally charged subject matter. Delivery required not only operational excellence at scale, but a strong focus on safety, accessibility and wellbeing for delegates, speakers and staff.
Arinex was appointed as Professional Conference Organiser in 2023, working closely with the Australian Childhood Foundation, and MCEC to ensure the event was delivered with care, sensitivity and purpose.
the Approach
Arinex designed the delegate journey to be calm, clear and supportive. Registration kiosks, a mobile app and digital poster program enabled efficient access to sessions and information, while carefully planned catering spaces supported flow and comfort throughout the venue.
Traumainformed delivery was embedded across the event. Teams were trained in Hidden Disabilities Sunflower awareness, a dedicated Sensory Space was available to all delegates, and a First Nations Wellbeing Room provided culturally safe support. These elements were critical in ensuring delegates felt respected, supported and able to engage fully with the program.
the outcome
ICTC 2025 demonstrated how thoughtful planning, strong partnerships and trauma informed principles can come together to deliver a largescale conference that prioritises wellbeing alongside knowledge exchange.
For Arinex, the event reinforced our capability to deliver complex conferences with empathy, precision and purpose, supporting conversations that matter and creating environments where people feel safe to learn, connect and contribute.
